NCL-Net
Organisation, Structure and Function
The NCL-Net is a network that combines several functions:
The main function is to provide a central medical information center for patients, physicians and hospitals with questions regarding diagnosis and treatment of NCL-patients. Constant contact persons for these question are the physicians in the NCL-Clinic of the University Medical Center Hamburg, Germany (see Contact).
Other important functions of the NCL-Net are the following:
- to support contact and exchange of information beween patients, medical doctors, and scientists
- to inform patients and medical doctors about ongoing clinical and basic research projects
- to assign patients to research studies if they are interested
The overall aim of the NCL-Net is to support NCL-research in order to help develop treatment options for these diseases which today are still beyond remedy.
